Cloud-first IT for businesses that are growing fast.

Your Bristol IT partner

Solid Systems: cloud and Copilot support for Bristol.

Solid Systems helps businesses in Bristol and the South West run on the cloud, with remote IT support, managed IT, Microsoft 365, cyber security and Copilot adoption. We don’t have a Bristol office. Our UK office is in London, and Bristol clients are supported remotely by a team that has worked in business IT since 2003.

Growing businesses tend to outgrow their IT in stages. The first few people share a Wi-Fi password and a Dropbox folder. Then come the new starters, the second office, the client asking about security and the board asking about AI. Each stage is easier if the foundations were laid properly at the one before.

We help you lay them: accounts, devices and files in the cloud, security that scales with headcount, and a plan for what comes next, so the IT keeps up with the business rather than holding it back.

IT support in Bristol

IT that grows with the business.

Bristol is home to a wide mix of growing businesses: software and digital firms around Temple Quarter, creative studios on the Harbourside, engineering and aerospace suppliers near Filton, and professional practices from Clifton to Bath and South Gloucestershire. What many have in common is that they started small, grew quickly and built their IT as they went.

That usually works until it doesn’t. Shared accounts nobody can remember setting up, files in four different cloud services, laptops bought on a card and never managed. None of it matters on day one; all of it matters when a key person leaves, a client sends a security questionnaire or you try to switch on Copilot.

For Bristol clients, our remote support typically starts with:

  • Bringing accounts, files and devices together in Microsoft 365, with one person per account and no shared passwords
  • Moving what is left on old servers or scattered storage into cloud storage that is backed up
  • Device management, so every laptop meets the same standard however it was bought
  • A helpdesk and a plan, so growth doesn’t depend on whoever happens to be good with computers

Copilot and AI

From AI curiosity to work that actually changes.

Most businesses we speak to have tried AI in some form. Someone uses ChatGPT for drafts, someone else has a Copilot licence they open once a week, and nobody is sure what data the tools can see. The interest is real; the value usually isn’t yet.

Copilot works inside Microsoft 365, so it can only be as useful, and as safe, as the environment underneath it. If permissions are loose, it will surface files people shouldn’t see. If files are scattered, it can’t find the right ones. So we start with the foundations: permissions, data and security, then a small number of everyday tasks where Copilot saves real time.

From there, people learn by doing. Elevate gives leaders one-to-one coaching built around their own work, and the Solid AI Academy takes whole teams through it with a live human coach. Ignite, our in-person masterclass for senior leaders, is coming soon to the UK: you can register your interest.

Who we are

A human IT partner for Bristol.

Solid Systems started in Cape Town in 2003 and has offices in London, Cape Town and Johannesburg. There is no Bristol office, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Bristol clients are supported remotely, with the same helpdesk and standards as every other client.

We believe technology should make people’s working lives better, which is why we’re human, not robots. That matters most with AI: the aim is to give your people time back for the work only they can do, not to replace them.

As you grow into new offices, in the UK or further afield, every location gets the same standards and the same support.

Frequently asked questions

Still deciding? Ask us anything →

01Do you have an office in Bristol?

No. Our offices are in London, Cape Town and Johannesburg, and Bristol businesses are supported remotely. If a job genuinely needs a visit, we agree how it will be handled before the work starts.

02We grew quickly and our IT is a mess. Where do we start?

With a clear picture of what you have. A Solid Systems Review lists your accounts, devices, licences and security gaps, and turns them into a plan in a sensible order, starting with the biggest risks.

03Can you move us fully to the cloud?

In most cases, yes. We plan the move to Microsoft 365 and, where it makes sense, Microsoft Azure, then migrate files, email and systems in stages we agree with you.

04Is our business ready for Microsoft Copilot?

It depends on your permissions and data more than your licences. We check who can see what, tidy up where files live and secure the environment first, so Copilot only shows each person what they should see.

05How do we get in touch?

Book a 30-minute consultation, or call our UK office on +44 20 3150 0261. We’ll talk about where your Bristol business is heading and tell you honestly whether we can help.
