Security your clients can rely on, and IT your people don’t have to think about.
Solid Systems supports firms in Leeds and across West Yorkshire with cyber security, managed IT, remote IT support and Microsoft 365. We have no office in Leeds: our UK office is in London and Leeds clients are supported remotely. We have looked after business technology since 2003.
Many of the firms we talk to hold information that belongs to someone else: client files, financial records, case notes, personal data. Losing it, or having it stolen, is a problem that goes well beyond IT. So security isn’t an add-on in the way we work; it is built into the support from the first day.
That doesn’t mean making people’s lives harder. The best security is the kind your team barely notices: sign-in that is protected without being painful, email that filters out the dangerous messages and devices that stay patched.
Leeds has one of the largest clusters of financial, legal and professional services firms outside London, from the offices around Park Square and Wellington Place to practices in Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Harrogate. These firms run on email, documents and trust, and that makes them a target. A convincing fake invoice or a stolen password can do more damage than any hardware failure.
Clients and insurers increasingly want to know how a firm protects their information, and UK GDPR expects personal data to be kept secure. You should be able to answer those questions clearly, and show that the protection is actually in place rather than written in a policy nobody reads.
For Leeds firms, our remote support covers:
Protection first, then the support and tools that let people work without worrying about it.
Identity, device and email protection in one service, built on the Microsoft security tools many firms already pay for. Compare the options in our Secure365 plans guide.
Cyber security →Day-to-day support, monitoring and patching, so the security settings stay in place and devices don’t fall behind on updates.
Managed IT services →SharePoint and Teams set up with sensible permissions, so client files are shared with the people who need them and nobody else.
Microsoft 365 →An independent look at your setup that shows where the gaps are and what to fix first, written so partners and directors can act on it.
IT audit →Most attacks on professional firms don’t involve clever hacking. They start with an email: a login page that looks like Microsoft, an invoice that looks like a supplier’s, a message that seems to come from a partner asking for an urgent payment. Once someone enters a password, the attacker reads the mailbox, learns how the firm works and waits for the right moment.
Each step of that can be blocked. Multi-factor authentication means a stolen password alone isn’t enough to get in. Conditional access stops sign-ins from unexpected places and unmanaged devices. Email protection catches most of the fake messages before they arrive, and training helps people spot the ones that get through. If something does go wrong, endpoint detection spots unusual behaviour on a laptop and isolates it.
We set these up as one joined-up service rather than a pile of separate products, because security settings drift as people join, leave and change roles, and need checking as that happens. Our article on Zero Trust in Microsoft 365 explains the approach in more detail.
Solid Systems has been in business since 2003, starting in Cape Town, and today has offices in London, Cape Town and Johannesburg. We don’t have a Leeds office. We support Leeds firms remotely, and we tell you so up front.
Our people are at the centre of how we work, and so are yours. Security only works when people understand it, so we explain what we are doing and why, in plain language, rather than hiding behind jargon. That is part of being human, not robots.
Firms with offices elsewhere in the UK or in South Africa get one standard of security across every site, managed by one team.

No. Solid Systems has offices in London, Cape Town and Johannesburg, and Leeds firms are supported remotely. Any onsite work is agreed and priced with you before it starts.
With layers that work together: multi-factor authentication and conditional access on every account, email filtering and domain protection, managed and encrypted devices, and training so people recognise phishing. Our Secure365 service brings these together.
Yes. When we have set up your security, we can tell you what is in place and help you describe it accurately when a client or insurer asks.
It shouldn’t. Sign-in protection can be set to ask for a second check only when something looks unusual, so most people rarely see it. The aim is security your team barely notices.
