Modern Workplace

Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace

Get more from the Microsoft tools you already pay for, with a workplace that is organised, secure and easy to use from anywhere.

How we work

A cleaner Microsoft 365 makes everything else work better.

We tidy up Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, set sensible permissions, and manage devices with Intune. People find what they need, and IT stays in control.

We plan changes around how your teams actually work, so improvements land without disrupting the day.

What you get

A workplace that's easy to use and easy to manage.

Teams & SharePoint structure

A clear home for every team's files and conversations, with permissions that make sense and old clutter cleared out. Our SharePoint services.

Device management

Laptops and phones set up with Intune and Autopilot, so new starters are productive on day one and lost devices stay protected.

Licensing & adoption

The right licences for each role, and practical training so people use the features you are already paying for.

Migration to Microsoft 365

Your files moved into SharePoint and OneDrive, and email into Exchange Online where you need it, with cut-over support so the switch doesn’t stop work.

Security & identity

Sign-in protected with MFA and conditional access, devices secured with Intune and Defender, and sensitive data labelled and kept in the right hands, with POPIA in mind.

Training & support after go-live

Live training built around how your teams work, Q&A follow-ups once you’re live, admin training for whoever looks after Microsoft 365, and our support team when someone gets stuck.

Where we usually come in

Sound familiar?

Most businesses already use Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. The trouble is they don’t work as one place, and people feel it every day. These are the situations we’re asked to fix most often.

The tools don’t join up

Files in five places, chats that drift away from the work, and Planner tasks nobody checks. We bring SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Planner together into one clear way of working.

Outside people can’t get in, or get too far in

Consultants, partners and clients who are part of the everyday team. We set up guest access, sharing and channel permissions so they reach what they need, and nothing more.

The first set-up was never finished

A migration or configuration that wasn’t done properly. Rather than layering fixes on top, we review the tenant, SharePoint, Teams, identities and permissions, keep what works and fix what doesn’t.

People are already using AI tools

Staff pasting work into public AI chatbots. Copilot works inside your Microsoft 365, within your permissions and data rules, once the foundations are in place. How we roll out Copilot.

How a project runs

Five phases, from first workshop to confident adoption.

Whether it’s a new tenant, a migration or a Microsoft 365 that was set up badly the first time, every project follows the same path. A dedicated project manager keeps it moving, with a weekly check-in, so you always know what’s done and what’s next.

The win isn’t deploying Microsoft 365. It’s your people being more capable inside it, which is why the last phase is about adoption, not switch-on.

  1. 01DiscoverWorkshops with your team and a review of your groups, teams and permissions, ending in a clear execution blueprint for the work ahead.
  2. 02PrepareYour Microsoft 365 tenant set up right (domains, licences and baseline settings), with devices, profiles and MFA ready for roll-out.
  3. 03DeploySharePoint, Teams and OneDrive configured and branded for your business, with the security baseline, and data loss prevention and sensitivity labels where you need them.
  4. 04MigrateYour data moved into SharePoint and OneDrive, and email into Exchange Online where it’s needed, with cut-over support.
  5. 05AdoptLive training and Q&A follow-up sessions so your team actually uses the new ways of working, plus admin training.
The apps

Microsoft 365 apps we set up and support.

Microsoft 365 works best when its apps are set up together, around the way your business works. We set up and support the core Microsoft 365 apps for your teams, so people can find their work, collaborate safely and get help when something breaks.

Microsoft Teams is usually where we start: teams and channels that follow how your people work, meeting and guest-access settings that suit your business, and files kept in SharePoint so they live in one place. OneDrive keeps each person’s work files synced and backed up across their devices, and OneNote gives teams shared notebooks for meetings, projects and handovers. Defender for Office 365 checks links and attachments in email and Teams before anyone opens them. Surface devices arrive with Windows 11 Pro, ready for each person to sign in and start work. When something stops working, our support team puts it right. Book your IT consultation to review how your apps are set up today.

The security foundation

What keeps it safe, in plain English.

Collaboration should stay easy while the right people see the right information. These are the Microsoft services we set up underneath, so your workplace is safe, governed and ready for Copilot.

Microsoft Entra ID

Identity at the centre of everything: one sign-in, multi-factor authentication, and conditional access that checks who, where and which device before letting anyone in.

Microsoft Intune

Device management for company and personal laptops and phones, including Android and iOS: compliance checks, app protection, and a remote wipe if a device is lost.

Microsoft Defender

Threat protection across devices, identities, email and cloud apps, so attacks are spotted and stopped early.

Data loss prevention and sensitivity labels

Rules and labels that keep sensitive information, such as personal data under POPIA, from being shared where it shouldn’t be. AI is only as safe as this foundation.

The outcome

A tidy, well-governed Microsoft 365 environment that's ready for Copilot, with people who know how to use it.

Frequently asked questions

Still deciding? Ask us anything →

01What if we’re already on Microsoft 365?

We tailor the plan to your current tenant: we keep what’s working and fix what isn’t. Most of these projects focus on tenant governance, SharePoint structure, the security baseline and adoption.

02How long does a Microsoft 365 project take?

Setting up the core of Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, migration and training) typically takes four to six weeks. Adding the security baseline with Intune and Defender for Endpoint adds two to three weeks, and data loss prevention, sensitivity labels and Copilot readiness training add three to four weeks. We confirm the timeline in the Discover phase.

03What isn’t included in the project price?

Microsoft licences. Per-user and per-device subscriptions, such as Microsoft 365 Business Premium or Microsoft 365 Copilot, are quoted separately so procurement stays clean. The project price covers our work: workshops, set-up, configuration, migration, training and project management.

04What happens after go-live?

We run Q&A follow-up sessions to help your team past real adoption blockers. Many businesses then keep us on as their managed IT partner, with Solid Select or Solid Unlimited.

05Can you help us introduce Copilot safely?

Yes. Copilot only sees what each person can already open, so we check permissions and set up data loss prevention and sensitivity labels first, then help your people adopt it. See how we roll out Copilot.

06What does a Surface device from Solid Systems include?

Surface devices from Solid Systems come with a Windows 11 Pro licence preinstalled. Our quotations also include options for direct delivery and device onboarding, so your people are set up and ready to work as soon as their Surface arrives.

07Why does a business Surface device need Windows 11 Pro?

Windows 11 Pro includes security and management features for business users that a Home licence doesn’t, such as BitLocker encryption, Group Policy management, Remote Desktop, Windows Sandbox, Hyper-V and Trusted Boot. Our SOLID Guardian tools, which we use to monitor, manage and maintain your devices, also need Windows Pro.

08What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is the Microsoft 365 app where people chat, meet and call. Each team gets channels for its conversations, and the files shared there are kept in SharePoint, so the work and the discussion about it stay in one place. We set Teams up around the way your people work, with meeting and guest-access settings that suit your business.
